Neighbor kept opening our gate so their dog could poop in our back yard

These aren’t the “friendly” neighbors either. They’re the ones who usually mind their own business, but will park cars in front of your driveway, throw parties that go until 2am, hotbox their garage then smoke out everyone around them who wants nothing to do with their weed, and the likes.
These neighbors have a dog they’re not supposed to have. It’s none of our business, so we don’t mention anything of it whenever we see their landlord. Maybe they have an agreement that says otherwise? Don’t know, don’t care. I just know the landlord doesn’t allow pets. It’s a pretty looking pit mix though.
A few nights ago I look outside our door to be met with the eyes of a dog. I look at the gate, it’s open. The latch faces our yard, and has to be lifted to open. I thought the dog pushed on the gate hard enough to open it, which seemed unlikely because they’ve been there almost a year now without this happening. I shut the gate, shake it good to make sure it’s latched, and forget about it.
An hour later the dog is in our yard again. The neighbors? In their garage getting high. Their garage is what attaches to the fence with the gate. I chase the dog out, close the gate, and this time put a block in front of it in case the dog is somehow managing to push it open. Later in the night I see the neighbor confused as to why our gate won’t open. They didn’t see me out there, I didn’t say anything. I figured it could be dealt with a different day. It’s Christmas, right? I don’t have the time to deal with that right then.
The next morning I needed the block for something, pulled it from the gate and thought nothing of it. We had just finished barbecuing the brisket, and over the course if it’s 14 hour cook it had filled up the drippings bucket. I set the bucket aside with the intent to throw it away, but got distracted and forgot about it.
This morning I went to take trash out of the yard, only to find the gate open and the drippings bucket nearly empty and knocked over. Paper towels were shredded up, aluminum foil scattered in the yard, and all followed by paw prints. The dog ate the entire bucket, about 32oz, of pure grease droppings from a brisket.
The neighbors are still cleaning up the mess from the dog. The gate now has a padlock on it. All is quite well 🤣
ETA: I’ll give an update on the dog. I don’t feel bad for the neighbors, but I have no animosity towards the dog.
ETA 2: Some people have suggested I let the neighbor know what their dog did. I gave them a heads up about their dog eating the drippings/grease from the brisket, they pretty much dismissed it and said “thanks.”
Again, I’ll give an update after a couple days for the dog.
