My long-distance relationship is making me conflicted over my career' – The Irish Times

We spend 3-4 days at each others place every 8-10 days, usually alternating my place and his. This year we will do christmas at my house that i just bought this summer. My bf lives in an old rental apartment building. I have very nice expensive furniture and am particular about my living space. He has a 25 year old couch he inherited from his parents. He has a cat. Lately the cat has become a problem for me as i can’t deal with the ubiquitous hair. I told him i would appreciate if he didn’t bring the cat this time as i just finished a kitchen/living room project and would like to just enjoy a couple days in a clean space for the holidays before i go back to work. He is used to leaving the cat at home when we go away on trips, up to 5 days with an automated feeder and water fountain. Last time the cat was here she puked multiple times in the basement, luckily not on rugs or couch. In the past i expressed i didn’t want the cat in the bedroom and/ or my closet and he has not gone out of his way to make sure the doors were closed and she ended up places i said i don’t want her. He does not contribute anything to my living expenses if that is relevant. When i expressed i would appreciate if he just left her home this time for the 2,5 days- it will be 3 days, 2 nights at my place, he said nothing. I am quite certain he will bring her and pretend like i never said anything. AITA for wanting to enjoy my house for the holidays? I feel my boundaries are being disrespected if he brings her…
