I recently found out my boyfriend still speaks to his ex which I expressed makes me feel very uncomfortable and insecure (also due to previous relationships i was cheated on etc) they dont share children so I feel like why do you still want a connection with her he claims they did not end badly its just mutal conversation hi how are you etc he said he refuses to stop contact completely argument round in circles so I basically said meet me in the middle then if you want to talk to reassure me can you just show me its as innocent as you say if its just general chit chat whats the problem point blank refused (I dont know his passcode or anything didnt ask to go through his phone just her whilst we’ve been together) HE HAS POINT BLANK REFUSED I cant help but feel if its all innocent and you love me just show me to reassure me he even said i can see its eating you alive so if you can see that put my mind at ease no? But no point blank refused to show me anything,,
More context it was a long distance relationship with the ex so unlikely physical cheating is taking place but would be very easy in my mind to still be flirty saying love yous etc maintaining a relationship potentially with us both at the same time.
So WIBTA to ask his ex the context of there conversations.
