Am I the a**hole?
I purchased my home well before meeting my significant other.
We have been together for a little over 3 years and have been married for roughly 1 year.
We have MANY projects started in the home all of which are unfinished.
One night there was an argument and the statement made by my significant other was “well if you’re wondering why I’m not working on these projects I will not do so until you put my name on the house”
Next day statement is “well we are married so I will make sure I fight for half this house and I will do everything to make sure I get it”
So week later I start looking up videos on how to do one of the projects so I can start to do it and I get the crappy snarky response of “well instead of looking up how to add me to the house that just tells me you’d rather be alone and I won’t put up with this much longer”
Like what?! You just threatened to fight me for my house that you did not buy, you did not chip in money to purchase and you did not chip in money for these projects.
Why does my SO just assume they “deserve” their names on my house just because we are married.
Seriously? AM I THE ASKHOLE HERE?
