I’m cheap. SUPER cheap. And it has rubbed some people the wrong way.
Examples:
– When I went out to eat for my mom’s bday, my boyfriend was there. He got a Coke and refills are free. Instead of ordering a Coke myself, I ordered a free water and stuck my straw in his cup. Since refills are free, it’s not like I’m stealing any of his since he has an infinite amount. And it was cheaper. My dad was offended at this and said he would pay for another coke for me to get me to not do it. But I didn’t want my parents to pay since I was treating them so I broke and paid and was kind of resentful for it.
– My bf wanted a nicer, fancier hotel when we went on a trip but I wanted the cheapest place which was a little Motel like Super 8 or something. So I told him I’ll pay HALF the price of the Super 8, and if he pays the rest, we can get the more expensive, nicer hotel.
Those are just some examples. Some people say it’s me being kind of an AH. But time is money, and my money is time… and time on this earth is limited. I’m going to die one day. So… I hate hate hate wasting time and by extension, money. And when someone wastes MY time and money, I feel like they’ve killed me a little bit.
