AITA for skipping dinner and gifts at my in-laws?
Woman Sent Mother-in-Law Christmas List for 1 Year-Old, Is Shocked by What She Gets
Every year during the holidays, my family of 7 spends Christmas with my in-laws and New Years Day with my parents. My in-laws live locally, while my parents live at least 8-10 hours away by car.
This past Christmas, my in-laws unfortunately came down with Covid a couple days before Xmas, so they had to cancel all the plans for dinner/gift exchange/etc.
My parents are planning on visiting within the next day or so, and are staying for a few days after New Years.
Here lies the problem: my in-laws are starting to feel better and now want to exchange gifts with us and our kids at their home. While my parents are visiting. And they are not invited to the supposed gift exchange (because it’s awkward for them).
And my hubby just informed me that they want to have an early dinner with us as well (which I’m assuming my parents also are not invited).
AITA for skipping the whole thing and staying home with my parents?
I told my husband that it was rude to ditch my parents after they drove all this way to visit us. He thinks it’s fine because my parents are 72/82 and in their old age, they tend to spend their day getting lost in their iPad (my mom) or their e-reader (my dad).
    So…AITA?
