Everyone keeps complaining about my 2 year old and I can’t handle all the scrutinizing anymore. Am I really the asshole in this situation?
Everyone keeps complaining about my 2 year old. Am I really the asshole in this situation? I am tired of the mom shaming and people scrutinizing me. Anytime my kid is loud (whether he is happy or sad) people either complain to me when he is loud OR they accuse me of not paying attention to him. His doctor says his behaviour is normal and he is not sick. People just love alienating normal toddler behaviour. When i am at home my roommates complain if my toddler is loud and when I go out in public people still complain if he is loud. They either ask me to leave or they tell me to keep him quiet. One of them even called an ambulance on us (he was fine) because a customer complained to a manager that she could hear him screaming from far away and it made her think he was “in distress”. When the ambulance came they found nothing wrong with him. It is even to thle point where even the person I pay rent to has sent me a text (with no court papers!) saying she wants to give me a 30 days notice because of my kid being loud.
What the fuck… she ended up changing her mind later and said “You can stay if you can keep your baby quiet.” My son is 2 years old. Oh and a couple weeks ago my own mother made a FALSE cps report on me because she wants to take him from me. She told them that I beat, punch, hit and kick my child. All of that was false. Its ironic though cause one of my roommates has told me he thinks I should spank my kid but I don’t agree with spanking.
Edit: I know he is loud. But he is always loud even when he is happy. People have always told me he is loud or that he has good lungs even when he was a newborn. Some kids have stronger voices than others. I really can’t change that. My own esrs hurt sometimes when he screams but I still can’t change how he sounds.
